Ryan Vandenhaak

Hey! I’m Ryan. I’m the primary guy behind Jaybird. I keep the team pretty small intentionally, as it allows me to devote my full attention to every job I have on the go. Still, it’s not uncommon to see me partnering with other contractors or bringing on a few extra hands, depending on the project.

I’ve been in contracting in one form or another for more than 20 years now. I started Jaybird in 2018 to double down on what I was good at: Siding, windows, doors, and the like.

A couple years ago, I doubled down once again, changing the company name from “Jaybird Renovations” to “Jaybird Exteriors”. I’m continuing to stake my claim on the type of work I do best.

Outside of work, I’m a husband and father to 2 awesome kids. I love artists like David Byrne and I’m often reading (or listening while I’m working to) highly existential or philosophical books. I’ve also been known to smoke the occasional cigar.

I hope you can see in my work: I love what I do. Yes it’s a job, yes some days are better than others, but I throw myself into my craft and hope that in 20 more years I’ll be able to see how much further along I’ve come.
